About...

How I got started
Easy Riding Rockies is in Manteca, which is centrally located in California. I first found out about this breed about nine years ago. I had just lost my Tennessee walker of 28 years and had replaced him with another Walker two years before. He was bred a lot hotter then my first one and I end up getting hurt. I had people who bred Walkers look at my geldings papers and mentioned if they had seen his papers before I purchased him they would have advised me not to purchase him as a trail horse. I truly believe that how a horse is handled and trained also has a lot to do with its disposition, but the breeding is very important for the foundation of a good-minded horse. I attended the State Fair in Sacramento, California and met Dean Moon with his Rockies; he had nothing for sale but mentioned a couple that had purchased quite a few Rockies by the name of Barney and Gloria Northcote. They invited me out to their place; they hold the Rocky Mountain Horse Week in California, which is held one week out of the year.
